Some examples of a regular verb include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Walk &#8211; Walked &#8211; Walked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Talk &#8211; Talked &#8211; Talked<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Clean &#8211; Cleaned &#8211; Cleaned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>IRREGULAR VERB:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If a verb&#8217;s past tense is not formed using -ed, it is considered an irregular verb.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some examples:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Shut &#8211; Shut &#8211; Shut<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Drink &#8211; Drank &#8211; Drunk<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Break &#8211; Broke &#8211; Broken<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>LINKING VERB:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A verb that acts as a link between two words is called linking verb. It connects or links a subject to a noun or an adjective. Common linking verbs are:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Appear<\/li><li>Become<\/li><li>Feel<\/li><li>Look<\/li><li>Taste<\/li><li>Turn<\/li><li>Sound<\/li><li>Seem<\/li><li>Grow<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The bags are full of dust.<\/li><li>The room is very small.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>TRANSITIVE VERB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A transitive verb refers to a verb that needs an object to complete itself. Usually no preposition is used after a transitive verb. A transitive verb passes its action from subject to object, for example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The instructor addressed the student\u2019s question.<\/li><li>The committee members will raise money for the new project.<\/li><li>The player kicks the football.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>INTRANSITIVE VERB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In contrast, a verb that doesn\u2019t need any object to complete itself is called intransitive verb. Usually prepositions are used after an intransitive verb. An intransitive verb does not pass an action on from the subject to the object, for instance:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>The patient\u2019s health deteriorated quickly.<\/li><li>May I sit here?<\/li><li>She died in an accident.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>FINITE VERB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A verb that can change its form in accordance to the subject is called a finite verb. It also defines the time (past or present) and the subject and tells you who is doing the action and when it is being done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>I eat rice. \/ He eats rice. \/ They eat rice.<\/li><li>I am a student. \/ He is a student. \/ They are students.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>INFINITIVE VERB<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>An infinitive is a verb which has \u201cto\u201d before it.
