However, this does not mean that you can use sentences in a similar form throughout your speech or writing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">The Four Different Types of Sentences<\/mark><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">There are four main types of sentences: declarative, imperative, interrogative, and exclamatory.<\/mark><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Declarative sentences<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Declarative sentences<\/strong> make a statement or express an opinion and end with a period. <br><strong>Example: <\/strong>&#8220;The sky is blue.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The declarative sentence that makes a statement, provides a fact, offers an explanation, or conveys information. They tell us something. They give us information, and they normally end with a full-stop\/period.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Declarative sentences can be positive or negative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>subject + verb\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>She doesn\u2019t study German on Saturday.<\/li><li>We watched TV last night.<\/li><li>We did not watch TV last night.<\/li><li>I do not like coffee.<\/li><li>George brushes her teeth twice a day.<br><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Imperative sentences<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Imperative sentences<\/strong> give a command or make a request and end with a period. <br><strong>Example: <\/strong>&#8220;Please close the door.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Imperative sentences give a command. They tell us to do something, and they end with a full-stop\/period (.) or exclamation mark\/point(!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The usual word order for the imperative sentence is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>base verb\u2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Examples:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Leave the book under my doormat.<\/li><li>Don\u2019t give her coffee.<\/li><li>Play with intensity and courage.<\/li><li>Turn left at that intersection.<\/li><li>Please open with care.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\">Interrogative sentences<\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Interrogative sentences<\/strong> ask a question and end with a question mark. <br><strong>Example:<\/strong> &#8220;What is your name?&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Interrogative sentences ask a question. They ask us something.
