However, there are a few significant differences. It comes with 1, 2, or 3 blanks for which you must select the appropriate word or words. Each of the blanks has three answer choices; you must select all three right answers to get the question correct. To pitch in to master this type of GRE, here are the three-step processes you should follow on test day.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\n<script async=\"\" src=\"https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js\"><\/script>\n                <ins class=\"adsbygoogle\" style=\"display:block\" data-ad-client=\"ca-pub-5017566440575750\" data-ad-slot=\"3406615517\" data-ad-format=\"link\" data-full-width-responsive=\"true\"><\/ins>\n                <script>\n                     (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});\n                <\/script>\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><br><strong>Three-Step Process for Text Completion<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Let\u2019s understand it with an example.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Despite Eric\u2019s long battle with illness, the dancer displayed astonishing _______ of motion on stage.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table aligncenter\"><table  class=\" table table-hover\" ><tbody><tr><td><em>hesitancy<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><em>fluency<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><em>extension<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><em>indolence<\/em><\/td><\/tr><tr><td><em>queasiness<\/em><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. <strong>Read-only the sentence<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Do not look at the answer choices. It will distract you if you read them before you comprehend the sentence.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. <strong>Find the target, clue and the pivot<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The target<\/strong> is the thing in the sentence that the blank is illustrating. Here, the target is simply Eric (the dancer).<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>The clue <\/strong>is what forces the contents of the blank to be ideally predictable. Look for dramatic action or emotion. The clue should tell us more about the target (Eric).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In this case, the clue is \u201cdisplayed astonishing motion on stage\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>The pivot<\/strong> is what decides the relationship between the blank and the clue. Will the blank agree with the clue? Or will the blank disagree with the clue? It depends on the pivot.&nbsp;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, the pivot word \u201cdespite\u201d indicates the opposite direction. So, you can get the idea that in the blank we should put a positive-sounding word something like gracefulness\u201d.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Good quality<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/strong>A<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;B<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;C<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;D<br>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;E<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here are some pivot words you should keep in mind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table is-style-stripes\"><table  class=\" table table-hover\" ><tbody><tr><td><strong>SAME DIRECTION<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>OPPOSITE DIRECTION<\/strong><\/td><td><strong>CASUAL RELATIONSHIP<\/strong><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>And<\/td><td>But<\/td><td>Because<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Also<\/td><td>Despite<\/td><td>Therefore<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Furthermore<\/td><td>However<\/td><td>Hence<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Moreover<\/td><td>Nevertheless<\/td><td>So<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Besides<\/td><td>Still<\/td><td>Consequently<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Not only\u2026But also<\/td><td>Though<\/td><td>As a result<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>In addition<\/td><td>Yet<\/td><td>Thus<\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Semicolon(;)<\/td><td>On the other hand<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Colon(:)<\/td><td>In spite of&nbsp;<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>In fact<\/td><td>Although<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><tr><td>Just as<\/td><td>On the contrary<\/td><td><\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. <strong>Compare to each answer choices<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Insert the word into the blank one at a time, match to your fill-in, and mark down Good (\u2713), Bad (x), Sort Of (~), or Unknown (?).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>hesitancy = doubtfulness<br>fluency<br>extension = addition<br>indolence = ??<br>queasiness = sick<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You might have marked like this<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A x<br>B ~<br>C x<br>D ?<br>E x<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Here, &#8220;Despite&#8221; is a detour road sign suggesting that the correct answer will contrast with the fact that the dancer has endured a long battle with illness. So, the answer is \u201cfluency\u201d. It best matches with the word we guessed \u201cgracefulness\u201d. Your mastery of immense GRE appropriate words is the biggest factor that will determine your success.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sometimes, it may also happen that you may get a lot of context for the vocabulary from the sentence.&nbsp; However, it will take time to read the sentences.
