Meaning:

When you are going to start something very soon, you are “just about to” do something.

Examples:

  • Mr President, what I am about to do is not standard practice.
  • We propose adding what I am about to read in English at the end.
  • I am about to leave here.
  • But I do think that the numbers I am about to tell you are empowering.
  • If you spoke Greek you would understand what I am about to say.
  • Now, I want you to do exactly the same thing I am about to do.
  • Therefore, the concerns I am about to outline should be seen in that context.
  • I thank those Members who are applauding in advance what I am about to say.
