Quinary [adjective]

Subordinate to either one of these the quinary may and often does appear.

In its structure the quinary is the simplest, the most primitive, of the natural systems.

In the Mollusca circle two classes are still wanting to complete the quinary arrangement of that sub-kingdom.

It is quite within the bounds of possibility that the prehistoric nations of Europe possessed and used a quinary numeration.

This leads the quinary into the vigesimal scale, and produces the combination so often found in certain parts of the world.

The quinary element does not disappear, but merely sinks into a relatively unimportant position.
